WHY THIS DEVO?
If you're perfect, this devotional is not for you.
Ever been told by an older woman, "Sweetheart, your slip is showing"? Our decade long friendship turned sisterhood has shown us not only things about each other, but more importantly, things about ourselves. What do you do when trying to love someone else shows you more things about yourself than it does the other person? Join us on a journey of self-reflection, learned lessons and God-led growth.
THE AUTHORS
We, Brianna (Rodgers) Dodds and Lisa Brown Rodgers, are actually sisters (by marriage). As you learn our personalities in this devotional, you will find that we are uniquely different - with different backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences. In the beginning of our friendship, those differences made us feel incompatible and uncomfortable; but over the years, we have learned that our differences only made us uncomfortable because they revealed something within ourselves - our insecurities.
We are all too familiar with the damage that unaddressed and unhealed insecurities can cause, and we have committed to being less fearful of our insecurities and more empowered by God's power to heal and transform.
That starts with an awareness that our slip (issues or trauma) is showing, and then a commitment to doing something about it. Be prepared to laugh (we are hilarious), maybe cry (we sure have), and answer our journal prompts (honestly) that were crafted to inspire reflection and action.
We pray this devotional leaves you more sure of God's faithfulness, less alone in your journey, and more equipped to do the work.

THE HYPE
WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING
This 30-day devotional is uniquely crafted by two women who are not only family through marriage, but sisters in the work of healing. One brings the professional depth of therapy, the other the raw honesty of lived experience. Together, they create a safe space where women can confront hard truths with grace and grow stronger day by day.
- Krystle
These two women are carrying forward Susan’s legacy—not by imitation, but by walking faithfully in their authentic calling, addressing their own issues, and courageously writing this devotional as a guide for others who are seeking to overcome.
- Carol
Honestly, it's one of the most transparent devotionals I've read in a while. I liked that the authors both stayed in their own lane and always kept the focus Jesus centered and practical. I hope they do a group study with this material!
- Kesha
The devotional prompts were just what Dr. Jesus ordered for me. I can admit I was challenged, but eager to dive in. When you are ready to walk with your healing, this is the devotional for you!
